OUR STORY
Hello, my name is John. I’ve been married to Jill for two years, and we have a cat called Dennis. (yes, he’s a bit of a menace)
You may be wondering why I’m telling you this? Well it’s because of my father-in-law…
Like 20% of the UK population, my father-in-law, Andrew, suffers from a skin condition - in his case Rosacea. This means his skin is prone to redness and from time to time, rashes. Of course, this is not only uncomfortable for him but also sometimes annoying and embarrassing. Andrew was advised by
his dermatologist that he should avoid any synthetic chemicals – such as sodium laureth sulphates (SLES) – which can act as ‘triggers’ for inflammation and other reactions.
This isn’t as easy as it sounds because SLES are found in most shower gels and other skincare products – even some of those claiming to be natural or organic.
Andrew had to hunt around a bit for alternative products but his skin really started to improve and that got me thinking…
What if the artificial chemicals that we routinely use on our skin aren’t actually very good for us? Just how many ingredients that go into every-day skin and body care are artificially derived? Would it be practical or even possible to create a 100% natural skin care range?
Luckily, I had previously worked in the toiletry industry – I’ve always been into skincare, just ask my wife how much space I take up in the bathroom - and I knew how to get started. I did my research, spoke to some leading chemists and they helped me come up with the formulations for PURELY SKINCARE.
Not only is it free from SLES but also all the other potential nasties that make up most body products available on the high street. It is also one of the few products that can claim to be authentically natural.
