CLARY SAGE or salvia sclarea

A biennial herb, with pale blue-ish flowers, from which the oil is extracted through steam distillation. One of the oldest-known essential oils, it has been in use since the Middle Ages. It’s nutty, herbaceous scent can be divisive, and the oil was first used in place of hops in the early production of ale.

Traditionally it has been used to treat: acne, boils, dandruff, hair loss, wrinkles, depression, impotence and stress.
