LAVENDER or lavendula angustifolia
We’re all familiar with this evergreen shrub and its delicate purple flowers, from which the oil is extracted through steam distillation. Lavender is known as the ‘mother of aromatherapy’ and its treatments and uses are far-ranging. It’s widely known for its calming, restorative properties, and acts
as a fantastic healer for damaged skin.
Traditionally it has been used to treat: burns, eczema, asthma, muscular aches and pains, inflammations, psoriasis, stress, migraine – it can even be used as an insect repellent.
